The acquiring of supplies was done together. Aisle by aisle with only the most essential items picked. The budget for this endendver was four-hundred-fifty. An extra hundred was formed for alcoholic purposes. The  whole process of getting the supplies lasted about three hours. They all hoped that it was enough for the 3 weeks which was the required quarantine by  the  government. While this time it was preparing for the quarantine,  Earl was convinced that the next one would be for the zombies. Many people went ahead and treated this as the zombie apocalypseThe coexistence  that would have to take place would not be hard for the four of them. The real struggle was going to be not fight with each other when it came down to it. Ryan had his video games, Earl had his internet conspiracy articles which was always causing him to mental prepare for the zombie invasion. Tess also played video games in addition to her guitar and music ability. As for Erica, she had her purple vibrator or at least that's what she thought was going to get her through these weeks. She was a freelance writer and didn’t really think that writing about being trapped in a house was going to be exciting. Although listening to Earl’s conspiracy theories were at times entertaining. She had on more than one occasion followed up on one of his ideas with more research in hope of finding something to write about. She never told him this as she enjoyed this banter at times.

TESS

“Fucking Earl!”

Its the first night and Tess had already noticed Earl had snuck in and taken the alcohol. This didn’t really surprise her though, Earl was an alcoholic. She didn’t put it against him, after all it was a disease and he was more functional than most sober people anyway. He had better not start eating the food at a fast consumption. Tess knew the possible consequence of not rationing food. She had heard and read enough survival stories. She found it necessary to have a certain amount of food in the sake of not resorting to cannibalism. She had decided on multiple hiding spots. One was under the sink behind the cleaning supplies where it was dark and would almost never be sought after for food. She put the food in extra plastic bags in order to protect them. SHe had also opened two different floor vents and stuck food inside there. She lastly hid two gallons of water inside a ceiling attic space but this was for extreme sceneries. Obviously the water was still on and this was more in case a Nuke fell on the neighboring city.

EARL

I bet Tess is hiding food. She would be the one to do that. She was always the one thinking of others above herself. I should probably hide some of the Alcohol in case we need an emergency amputation. Earl grabbed two bottles of vodka and put them in the one place he thought no one would look for them. The weird attic space that wasn’t really an attic but had a window and weird door that was located on the ceiling. It required a ladder to get to and the first time Earl had attempted to go up there was a disaster. He didn’t have a tall enough ladder and decided that he would jump from the ladder, to make up for the extra feet needed. He nearly broke his neck as he fell from the ladder. They had since got a taller ladder. As he hid the bottles up in the space he found two gallons of water that somebody clearly tried to hide. Earl tore up some of the pink installation and tried to hide the bottles behind it . You would really need to be looking for it.

ERICA

Erica walked in at the perfect moment as she saw Earl coming down the ladder from the weird attic space they had inside the house.

“ Hiding the alcohol, Earl?”

“ No. I was just checking to see how much space was up there. In case we needed to hide or something. “

“ I’m sure that's what you were doing Earl. You didn’t hear about the new zombie strain that can jump twenty feet in the Air?” Earl just proceeds to give Erica a dirty look.

“ They also live off alcohol.”

“ Good it will be easy to light them on fire” replied Earl, as he walked into the house. Being stuck in a house with Earl might just make her an alcoholic as well.  Erica did have one thing she liked to do that she kept hidden from people that could help make the time pass. She enjoyed people watching. Or as some of her coworkers called it eavesdropping. If your conversation could be heard with her ears, that wasn’t her fault. If you wanted a private conversation you wouldn’t be talking in ear shot of someone. She was also mildly obsessed with her neighbors who she had caught having sex through her window and had ever since paid more attention to them, with a monocular. Most people might find this creepy but Erica found it natural to observer other people.

Ryan

This was going to be the easiest three weeks that Ryan had ever lived in his life. He had wanted this alone time for a while and was now going to get it. His girlfriend had  decided to bunker down with her friends at the last second and while he would miss her and the sex, he was willing to substitute that for the three weeks of video games he wanted to get lost in. He had played them with her around but always felt a little guilty as she always thought it was a childish thing to do and would constantly make remarks about his habit. All he wanted now was to rob a train in the latest and best wild west video game that humanity had to offer.

Tess

Tess couldn’t sleep that first night. The amount of stupid anxiety that over took her mind was overwhelming. She had been listening to Earl’s video’s. What if this quarantine was because the government fucked something up. What if three weeks wasn’t enough. What if we all die. She looked at her phone. 5:15 am. She had been laying in bed for the last hour wide awake, thinking like a maniac. She might as well just get up and make breakfast. She had been taught from an early age how to bake and decided that cinnamon rolls for the house sounded like a real calming exercise. As she walked into her kitchen to turn on the lights she noticed that her neighbors lights were on in their house. Apparently she wasn’t the only anxiety filled person this morning.  She contemplated whether or not turning on the news would be a good idea.
